"Ok, tell me again why we're in the Land Down Under?"
Gearworks Fox looked up at his fellow Recruit, Rebound Ringtail, and said "I heard that they wanted to have us train in barren enviroments. Namely the Outback."
Rebound laughed at him, and said "Why're you here then? What's there for a Combat Engineer hopeful to do in the Bush besides be a burden to his friends?
Fox laughed back, and said "I could say the same about a Demolitions Expert, but I wont. I figure that we're just 'The Crew' that they sent, that's all."
"Well, I, for one, will be glad to see the land that inspired my form."
Fox looked at one of the other 5 in the APC, Captain Kangaroo, and said "Sure, Jean-Luc. Good for you. Tell me, will you be taking in your supply of Earl Grey, hot?"
The 'Roo looked at Fox, and snorted, saying "Lay off it already, please!"
Fox held up his hands, saying "Ok, Ok! You win!"
A slight giggle was heard from Foxes left, and he looked over at one of the most beautiful sights he could imagine: Arctic Vixen, sitting to his immideate left.
She said "Well, personaly, I'll stand out like a sore thumb, but that's ok. I'll be with you."
She looked at the 'Roo to annoy him, but everyone in the APC knew she really meant Fox.
They all shook their heads, laughing, and the two in the back piped up "Ok though. What're we going to DO in the Outback? I mean, it's not exactly like we have to worry overmuch about finding food and water."
Fox snorted, and said "Probabebly combat training. I dunno."
The wise-alec, Whiplash Orange, a Bioroid with orange biological parts in him, grinned at the rest of the cadets, and Arctic replied to him "well, WE may not, but YOUR parts might just go bad in the Outback's heat. Remember?"
Orange's face looked dumbfounded, which it often did, as the other reploid in the back, Velocity Perigrine, snickered at him.
"Well, I, for one, will welcome the chance. I hate being cooped up all the time. I'm going to love the chance to spread my wings, and hit Escape Velocity."
The rest of them snickered at Velocity, who's stir-craziness was legandary, as was her daredevilish stunts in orbit and suborbit.
"Just dont do another one like last time. I dont feel like picking you out of a crater."
"Har-Har. That wasen't my fault."
"Whatever you say, Velocity."
Everyone had a good laugh, and things settled down.
"Hey, Fox, show me this new toy you were telling us about."
Fox laughed at Arctic, and said "Ok. Here it is."
He pulled 'it' out of a pack he had next to him; it was a rifle of sorts, about 3 or so feet long, painted in the 'Abandoned Machine' shade of rust, with a strange bulky unit on the top, a short distance before the location a manual sight would be. It didnt have a scope.
He also pulled out a half-helmet with a large visor, presumably for a HUD.
"This is a sniper rifle I made out of a railgun sniper I found just lieing around in the surplus stack. You know, the take-a-gun, leave-a-gun thing?
Everyone laughed at the little in-joke among the cadets, and Rebound said "Ok... But it dosent have a scope?"
Fox smiled at him, and said "It dosent have a traditional scope. It's got this visor for a HUD, which includes a zoom, pointed exactly where the barrel does. The visor can get up to 22X zoom. And without the visor, the thing on the barrel can project a holographic HUD for the new ITTS system I made."
Their blank stares were all the prompting a technological fiend needed, and he continued, "The Inertial Target Tracking System. It basicly shows the sniper where the target it with a box around it, where the gun's pointing with a crosshair, and where the sniper needs to aim to hit a moving target at long range, taking that data from speed and direction of the target, speed and direction of the sniper, wind shear, et cetera. It's working pretty well."
The other five crowded to his side of the APC, and demanded a demonstration, and Fox said ok. hang on... Mmm, switch on The Screen, ann set it to recieve my short-range IDent transmission. I'll transmit my visuals."
Whiplash fiddled with the control with a whip-like appendange, while Fox, rifle in hand, climbed up into the cupola of the APC, rumbling down the street in the middile of downtown Sydney.
He turned on the Int. Mic and Int. Speaker, and said "Testing, testing, can you hear me?"
Fox smiled, hearing Arctic's voice say "Affirmative. And we've got your visual feed on the screen."
Fox said, "Ok, let me put on the visor, and take a look out."
Fox slipped the visor on, and hit the switch to turn the cupola's walls clear instead of opaque, and looked around at the mass of traffic around them.
"Hoverbike, red, 2109 model Hondishi MotoGen Corp, 2, Oh clock."
Fox, responding to the voice instinctivly, centered his field of vision on the bike, with a human female in a red leather jacket and a swirly star design helmet riding it. The visor selected the girl's bike with a green box, and a point a foot plus change in front of it was suddenly occupied with a green diamond, with the four tips cut out, so it was 4 lines.
A short mummer of appreciation echoed through the speaker, and the Captain's voice issued forth "Ok, nice. Now, let's see the rifle's crosshair."
Fox shook his head, an act that might give a human motion sickness from the inside of the APC, and picked up the rifle, shouldering it just like the drill sarge had shown, pointing it at the green diamond.
"Nice, impressive. Does it work?"
Fox shrugged, causing the image to bob in the APC, and said "it should, all the tests I've run say it will, with about a 1 percent error margin."
"Ok, that's cool, I guess."
Fox chuckled, deactivated all the tabs he had turned on, and slid down into the APC belly, putting the sniper rifle and visor in with the rest of his equipment; A few assorted engineering tools, and his pump-12 shotgun, and his PAR; Portable Ammunition Replicator.
The screen, which had been switched to it's recieve mode, flickered, and a reploid with the Repliforce logo on his broad chest appeared, saying "Listen up Recruits; change of plans! Forget that Outback training, we've got an emergancy in Sydney, and the police requested our help. Your driver's allready on the way, so here's what we know; a group of human criminals, numbering more than thirty have siezed an office building in Downtown Sydney. Your job is to proceed to the area, get an update from the officals, and handle the situation. Cadet Gearworks will be in charge, oweing to the high aptitude for Leadership he earned on his tests. Have you got that?"
The cadets all saluted, shouting in unison, "SIR, YES SIR!"
The APC squealed to a stop.....
*2*2*Hostage Situation2*2*2
The Cadets all grabbed their gear, strapped it on, and exitted the vehicle, walking towards the building in question; it wasent hard to spot, there were a ton of police vehicles surrounding it, and a load of police tape cordoning off the area.
The six approached the police line, and Fox tapped an officer on the shoulder, saying "Excuse me, who's in charge here?"The officer looked over at the heavily armed group, and said "Err, Captain Banks is." The man pointed at an officer in a trenchcoat, and resumed his activity of pointing a pistol at the building.
Fox motioned the others on in silence, approaching the man, who was talking to a uniformed officer.
"Excuse me, are you Captain Banks?"
Banks looked around, and said "Oh thank goodness. Yes, I'm Banks. You're the reinforcements the UN had sent to us?"
Fox nodded, saying "I... Guess we are. How can we help?"
Banks nodded back, and replied, "Son, we have your traditional hostage situation, with a twist. The group inside the building claims to have advanced biological weapons, and claims it will use them on any team sent in. They claim to have a new weapon, one which our filters can't guard against, which is why we sent for US support."
Fox nodded, and said "I see, and since we wouldent be effected by biological agents, we're the logical choice to get the hostages out, right?"
The Chief nodded, and said "Yes. We've got some teams several floors below the floor where the hostages are, and an airlifter ready to bash in the side of the building and take them out, once the threat has been neutralized. Additionaly, some pockets of the building's guards have holed up against the threat, and they need to be rescued as well. We're in contact with them by radio, but we dont think they can bust out on their own. Our people, and most likely the guards, will do anything you need them to do."
Fox nodded, and Arctic spoke up, "Umm, Do we have a floor plan for the building?"
The chief looked at her icily for a second, and shook his head, saying "No. Somehow, mysteriously, the floorplans cut off at about the twenty-second floor, leaving about thirty or so unaccounted for. The hostages are on floor twenty-three, of course."
Fox nodded, and said "Ok, we'll do our best. Come on people."
He waved towards the building, and the six started towards the fairly grand lobby.
The chief called to them, saying "Oh, remember, check in with our people on the twentieth floor for support!"
Fox nodded, and waved his crew onwards again.
-----
Inside the lobby was a gruesome picture of carnage, as the six newbies looked over their first real taste of death; six guards in the middle of the room, all shot dead with various projectile weapons, except one who was missing his head. There were also two secretarys behind the large desk, each one with one bullet wound to the head.
Orange stepped in, and gulped, saying "Must've been.. One hell of a firefight."
The others nodded, and Velocity, the Medic, stepped forward to inspect the bodys, saying "Five of these were killed by bullets. But this one... His head was sheared off by a laser, of near-military grade. I'd say whoever did this had a military surplus weapon."
The crew gulped, and, Captain said "Well, we'd best get a moving then, hadent we?
"Yeah. No point in staying here, we can get shot at soon!"
Fox snorted in Rebound's direction, and said "Ok then. Let's use the elevator, floor 20."
-----
At floor 20, the group disembarked the elevator into a group of SWAT members who had automatic weapons leveled at them.
Fox gulped, and said "Umm, we're here to help."
A man from the group stepped forward, and said "Oh. Thank god. Listen, we've got a problem in addition to the Big One. There's five terrorists on the next floor, and they've got a group of guards pinned down. Apparently there's a big firefight going on, but this building's soundproofed."
Fox nodded, and said, "Ok. We'll do our best.
The six turned around, but the leader? of the SWAT team said "Ummm, the elevator was blocked off at this floor. You'll have to use the stairs."
Fox turned back to look at him, and said "Ok. That's understandable. We'll handle it."
-----
The six fanned out into the hallway at the end of the first flight of stairs, and looked around. The most likely place for the shootout wasent too hard to find, there was gunfire echoing down the hall to the right.
The six ran down the hallways at full-tilt, weapons at the ready, and came upon a group of terrorists in black suits, opening fire into a blue guard station/kiosk, from which contesting fire came from behind cover.
Fox's shotgun came up, and the group all aimed for a terrorist, and Fox said "Drop your weapons, NOW! If you spin, you die!"
Naturaly, the whole group spun, and was mowed down in a semicrazed exchange of fire, which didnt end untill a few seconds after the last terrorist had dropped.
"Woah! You guys are new, aren't you?"
Fox looked at the carnage that their weapons had wreaked on the frail humans, and he gulped...
"Umm. Kinda..."
A somewhat older human man walked out of the kiosk, his hands in the air, and he said "Thanks for rescuing us. Who're you folks?"
Fox looked at the bodys again, and gulped, saying "Ummm, we're Repliforce. We were sent in..."
The man looked them over twice, and said "Let me guess, green cadets?"
Fox snorted, and said "H-How'd you know that?"
The old man snorted back, saying "I'm retired UNAF, son. I can see it in your eyes." His eyes glanced at the carnaged corpses, and he said "It never gets easy, son... But it will never hit you as hard as the first time."
The man waved the rest of the guards out of the station, six in all, and he pulled his pistol from his holster, saying "Ok, we're with you. We've got some people to save!"
Fox nodded, and the other guards dodged the bodys with various degrees of squeamishness, and the twelve set off in silence for the stairs again...
-----
The group of twelve reached the 23 floor quickly, as it was the last floor that stairwell stopped at, and they stepped out into where the hostages were... Or had been, anyway.
The entire group, in the 23rd floor lobbey, had been all shot, once, through the head, each.
Fox gulped, and said, aloud "Ummm.. Why are some of the women naked?"
The older soldier stepped forward, shook his head, and said "Son, if you dont know why, I admire you. And nobody tell, either.... Trust you me, you're better off not knowing. let's go... They had to head up..."
Fox nodded, and said "Ok, hang on a second though. Arctic, can you comm out of here? Tell the police that the hostages, at least the only one's we've seen signs of, are dead, and that we're in pursuit of the criminals...
Arctic nodded, and her look went blank for a few seconds, then looked up again, nodding. "We've been asked to.. Well, I'm not going to repeat what the police chief said, but the gist was to find and terminate the people who did this.
The group nodded, and headed out through the level, in search of another way up, which wasen't too far in coming along; they found a large yellow-and-black stairwell, and the universal Biohazards sign on it.
"What is this?!"
"That is the Restricted Zone. Only certain employees are allowed to go in. There's usualy a lot of armed guards here."
Fox hmmmed, and said "Ok. Lets go..."
The guards and Repliforcers all nodded, but Fox shook his head, saying "Not you guys. We're gonna have you all evacuated on an airlifter. No arguments."
The old man looked about to contest the descision, but Fox's eyes just told him to shut up.
"Arctic, can you get them to nock in the wall to take these guards?"
Arctic's blank look returned, and she said "You six, back to the lobby, we - *"
A great thunderous crash interrupted her sentance, and she said "Errm, that's your ride. Now go, no questions, or the Chief will be angry, please?"
The old man waved his guards towards the lobby, all of whom seemed to have mixed joy at being saved, and horror at having to go back to the lobby.
*3*3*Anomalous Materials3*3*3
The crew walked up and up the stairs, quietly, following the muffled echoing sounds of bumbling in the dark, for the stairway's power had been cut, and the occasional trip and crunch, as well as intermittant smashes.
As they found landings, they found floors, which by the look of them had been thoroughly ransacked, so they continued upward, following the sound, which seemed to echo on into forever... Untill it didnt.
They found a floor where the door had been busted in, but the one above it was untouched, and the noised now came from inside.
Fox looked at the plate to the side of the door, and it said "Floor 41, Anomalous Materials Lab"
The crew gulped collectivly, and together the six reploids entered the dark and dreary lab floor, of which the first corridor had been decimated.
doors were smashed in, files rifled, and generaly it looked like a mini-hurricane had come through the area.
They walked into the main lobby of the floor, a much smaller affair, curiously deserted, and remarkably untouched, the security computer had been destroyed, but most of the things were'nt damaged.
"Hmmm. I wonder what did this..."
"Get them! They cant be allowed to escape!"
The Reploids spun towards the right-hand corridor, drawing weapons or bringing attached weapons up, as the first wave of bullets hit them like a lead tornado.
Fire swirled at them, as well as a few grenades, and the six took a few more seconds to respond than they should have, but they mowed down the five Yazuka that had ambushed them.
After the shooting was stopped, Fox gulped, registering some damage taken to his armor, and said "Everyone ok?!"
A small chorus of yes answered him, but it wasen't complete, and he looked at Rebound.
The Ringtail had had an HE grenade explode right under his chin. His head and most of his processing equipment was blown to pieces, and everyone gulped.
He looked to Arctic, and said "This isent good."
She shook her head, and said "Let's get up there. We might surprise anyone who comes to check on this firefight."
She was pointing to a maintence ladder that was down, and the five remaining hurriedly scrambled up into the celing.
His two-way radio spoke to him, as Velocity spoke "I... This is so horrible.. I dont believe he's really dead!"
He engaged the two-way back, and said "Neither do I.... But we still have a job to do... Let's wait and ambush the next group."
Fox pulled a bunch of flechete rounds from his backpack, and reloaded his shotgun, pumping it a bit more forcefully than nessessary, and they waited...
-----
A large group of the terrorists walked through the hallways, and Fox spied them.
They were acting somewhat strangly, and some had purple blotches on their skin, and one took a vicsious swipe at another, ripping it's ear off.
The other one didnt seem to notice.
"Man, these guys are freaky... What's with them?"
His four-way to the rest of the team was answered by the gist of, "I dont know, but whatever it is, I dont like it... Let's blast 'em.
Fox nodded, and everyone else nodded back, and Captain Kangaroo and Orange jumped down through the hole, rolling to the sides, and stood, firing in the space of a second, as Fox and Arctic jumped down, firing as well, and Velocity jumped down, hovering near the celing, firing.
A flurry of electric blasts from Arctic's MegaTaser, cutting-power water beams from Captain's SpitFire, OrangeNades thrown by Whiplash, flechete rounds from Fox's shotgun, and Falcon Missiles from Perigrine's wings cut into the crowd of twenty or so strangely acting terrorists, majorly damaging many of their bodys, but none of them fell.
The group looked on, stunned, as the wierdos ran towards them with incredible speed, and then it was a swirling melee for Fox, who could only look out for himself and Arctic, his punches and flechete rounds blasting down the crazed terrorists, untill it was just him, and arctic, standing, and Velocity flying.
Fox gasped, and crouched by the bodys of their fallen comrades, but Orange's Bio parts had been infected with somthing, they were turning orange, and he was spasming violently, and Captain's head had been torn into several small pieces.
"I... I didnt know a Bioroid could be infected."
Velocity landed, and gulped, saying "Yes... It's only ever happened.. twice, now... But it can happen.
Fox shook his head, and said "Arctic.. Call HQ... tell them we need backup. very, very badly."
She nodded, and her face went blank for a minute.
"They said a Mainline combat unit's on his way. A Maverick Hunter, an Elite. We've been ordered to withdraw to the roof... And await evacuation."
The three nodded, but they heard footsteps, and a gravely, somewhat mechanical voice saying "Well? What happened to the others?!"
A human's voice said "Err, sir, they... were exposed to somthing in the Lab. We saw it through the cleanroom plexiglass, they went... nuts...
A scream of rage was heard, and Fox gestured to the ladder, the three of them starting up it, one at a time, Arctic first, followed by Fox.
The footsteps got close, and Velocity tried to climb it, but the ladder fell, and made an aful clatter, followed by a shout of "WHAT WAS THAT?!"
Most humans might have hesitated, tried to run or lay low when this happened.
But if she did that, her friends would be found...
This flashed through Velocity's mind in a tenth of a second, and she took off towards the voices, flying through the corridor, opening fire, and gasping at what she saw at the same time. One of the humans went down under her onslaught, but a blast of neon-blue energy sheared her wing off, and she fell to the ground with a crash.
"Ahhh!"
She looked up, and screamed again, as another neon-blue flash came... And she mercifully knew no more...
*4*4*We've got hostiles!4*4*4
Fox and Arctic heard their comrades death scream, and both shuddered, as they started crawling into the vents, trying to get away from whatever could kill their friend.
As they crawled through the dark vents, Fox said on his two-way "I dont believe this.. it's almost surreal.. Our friends are dead."
She said back to him "I know.. Dont die on me, brother... I need you in my life."
He gulped, and said back, "I know. I dont know how I could live without you, Sister."
The two of them crawled through the vents in the direction the occasional Maint. Access plate said was the top floor, occasionaly hearing the occasional mutter or saying coming from outside.
As they crawled, Arctic said to him "Take my spare comm set. You may just need it."
She handed it up to him, and he clipped it into his overlarge ear, but said back "Thanks. But you're not going to die. Right?! Promise me!"
He heard her gulp, and she said "I.. I dont know if I can promise you that Brother.. but I'll do my best not to..."
The two of them tried to pass some time, speculating on why reploids with such wildly diffrent purposes had been manufactured to such amazingly similar specifications, but Arctic settled it when she said "I believe we were made to be what we are now: a support-function team, each of us in vital roles... Neither of us is really mainline combat, although we're not too far behind on that function..."
Fox chuckles over the two-way, saying "Are you saying we're a gift set?"
Her laugh was rewarding and calming in this nightmare, as she said "Yeah, that's what I'm saying. We're like a gift set. Maybe there'll be more of the Fox-Support team coming off the line soon."
Fox started to laugh back, but they heard somthing outside the vent, that gravely voice saying "Hold it. The four of you, go on ahead. I'm going into this lab to take somthing."
The sound of footsteps next to them split, and the heaviest footfalls went in the oppisote direction as the others.
Fox said "Let's ambush these guys. Payback for our friends!"
His sisters voice dripped with unfamilar venom as she endorsed the plan, "Yes! They MUST die for this!"
Fox blinked, somewhat frightened by his sister's hatred, but he echoed her sentiments perfetly, and he pointed at a large grate opening in the bottom of the vent, as the footsteps walked by.
The two of them crawled to the grate, and saw the men walking past, and simultainously, they said "Die!"
The four looked up at the grate, in the flickering, dark corridor, as gunfire and electricity lept through the grate, shattering it, and slaying two of them instantly, as the other two opened fire with assualt rifles, before being shot down themselves.
The two reploids sat in the vent for a few seconds, each examining the other, and saying "I'm fine. Are you?" "Yeah, let's go."
The two of them dropped to the ground, and dashed towards the stairwell, reading on it the words "Floor 56, maintenance and weaponry."
"This building's only 60 stories, right? And the roof!"
The two of them nodded, and dashed for the stairs......
"Not so fast!"
They whirled, and down the corridor, a nightmare shambled towards them, it was hard to see, but it looked like a monster, somewhat dripping with appendages. It raised an arm, and a neon-blue streak blasted down the corridor, not shedding much light on anything, but it smashed a hole through the stairwell wall.
Neither of the twins needed any more encouragement, and took off up the stairs as fast as their legs would take them, but to their dismay, the stairwell did not lead to the roof, rather only the top floor.
They ran down the corridor, looking for another way up, and saw it at the end of a maintenance corridor on the outside edge of the building, but one without windows.
"Not so fast, my pretties!"
The shambling monster apparently could move nearly as fast as they, and raised it's arm again, blasting... straight at Fox!
*5*5*Sole Survivor and the Blue Bomber5*5*5
Fox and Arctic screamed at the same time, but Arctic was moving while she did it, jumping in front of the beam, and she screamed, as it lanced into her body.
Fox screamed again, and caught her as she fell towards him, facing him, and gurgled out, "I.. Love you, brother..."
Fox screamed in rage, as the monster at the end of the dark corridor laughed, horribly, saying "How touching. I tell you what, I'll dispose of your bodies together. How fitting."
Fox screamed in rage, and in a blur of his incredibly dexterous hands, drew his railgun and aimed at the shambler in the space of a second, firing a hypervelocity round in the next tenth of one. In the NEXT tenth of a second, the monster was blasted backwards, sparks flying from it's chest.
"AHHHH! DIE!!!!!"
Fox looked down at his sister's body, and picked her up in a fireman's carry, and turned towards the stairwell, and started to walk, when he heard a familar, horrible voice behind him, say "That hurt, you punk. I'm taking that gun when I kill you."
Some might have turned to confront the creature again, but Fox, terrified and grief-stricken, bolted up the stairs into broad daylight, his hand slapping his spare comm, shouting "WHERE THE HELL ARE MY REINFORCEMENTS!!"
He heard a heavy footstep on the bottom of the stairs, and felt a spike of panic fly through him, when a calm, collected voice behind him said, "I'm right here! What's the emergancy!?"
He spun around, still holding his sister, and saw a blue Reploid standing on the roof somewhat to the rear of the stairwell, and he ran to him, recognizing the famous Megaman.
He ran up to him, and said "H-H-HELP ME! MO-MO-MONSTER!!!!!"
Megaman looked at him sharply, saying "What do you mean, Monster?!"
Paniced now, Fox said "I-I-I- THERES A MONSTER IN THERE! I hit it with this, and it hardly even fazed it!" He swung his railgun around so Megaman could see, and he said "He did this to her! To all of them! Their dead, their ALL DEAD!"
Megaman blinked at him, and said "I still dont know what you mean by Monster."
Fox pointed at the stairwell, as a loud clang of a footstep was heard on the top step that was part of the roof, and he said "THAT!!!"
The two reploids looked at the stairwell as the 'monster,' actualy a cyborg with a weapon-arm, cyborg limbs and chest, the upper left part of which was blown clean through by the railgun shot, stepped up, and aimed it's cannon-arm at the two, firing.
Both reploids managed to tumble-roll out of the way, as Megaman X sprung to his feet, firing his Buster, which demolished the stairway access, as Fox ran for the edge, holding his sisters body, and dove behind a piece of antenna equipment.
The cyborg screamed, and opened fire again, this time at Megaman, who took a grazing hit that didnt even seem to scratch his armor, as he fired again, blasting the cyborg in half.
"Whew.. Thank you, sir... That thing was so scary..."
Fox walked out from behind the antenna, walking towards the hero of the day, saying "Thanks..."
Megaman blinked, and said "That's ok... She seems to mean a lot to you, if you carried her out of there."
Fox nodded, closing his eyes, saying "She is.. was.... IS my sister..."
Rock nodded, and said "Ahh, I see... I understand... Who were these guys, that they demolished a whole team of Reploids?"
Fox shook his head, saying "I have NO idea, but I do know three things. This building's a strange research faccility, for biological warfare weapons. They were after the biological agents in the Anomalous Materials lab, and twenty or so of them got infected, and went berzerk. It was like they were drugged, they were crazy, but powerful."
Megaman nodded, and said "This will be importent, I think. I'd offer you congratulations on getting out alive... But I dont think you want them right now."
Fox blinked, and nodded...
They heard a noise from the upper half of the cyborg, as it spoke, or tried to. It actualy came out "Ghaaaii," but both Reploids spun around, pumping automatic weapons from from their secondary weapons into him, autoshotgun rounds and pellet buster attacks, untill the top part of the cyborg was so much flung bits and pieces.
*6*6*Sorrow; and Onwards6*6*6
The dropship that was taking X, Fox, and the recovered bodies of the team back to Repliforce HQ for drop off was flying high over the ocean, and Fox sat next to the window, cradling his sister's body on his lap.
"She... Must have definatly meant quite a lot to you..."
Fox blinked, and said "Yes... I never knew how much... untill that thing killed her..."
Megaman sighed, and said "I'm sorry... This was a horrible mission... They should never have sent rookies like you six in..."
Fox sniffed, and simply knealt his head down, burying it in the fake fur on his sister's neck.
The two rode on in silence, as land was sighted just ahead.......
